1-Year Warranty
K-RE Bikes stands behind the bikes we sell. Every new electric bike comes with a 1-year limited warranty against manufacturing defects. This page explains exactly what is covered, what is not, and how to make a claim.
1. Warranty period
- The warranty lasts 12 months from the date your order is delivered.
- It applies to new bikes bought from K-RE Bikes by the original purchaser.
- Repairs and replacements under warranty do not extend the original 12 months.
2. What is covered
We cover defects in materials or workmanship that appear under normal, correct use. This includes:
- Frame and swingarm: cracks or breaks caused by a manufacturing fault, not by impact or overloading.
- Motor: failure of the motor under normal use.
- Controller: failure of the controller or its wiring that is not caused by water entry, short circuits or modification.
- Battery pack: a battery that fails, will not charge, or shuts down because of a cell or BMS (battery management system) fault.
- Charger: a charger that fails under normal use.
- Display, throttle and switches: electronic faults not caused by damage or water.
- Fasteners and welds: faulty welds or components that fail through a manufacturing fault.
If a covered part is faulty, we will repair it, replace the part, or replace the bike, at our choice. Replacement parts may be new or refurbished and are covered for the rest of the original warranty period.
3. What is not covered
The warranty does not cover:
- Normal wear and tear: tyres, tubes, brake pads, brake discs, chains, sprockets, grips, seats, footpegs, bearings, bushings, cables, hoses and fluids.
- Gradual loss of battery capacity from normal use, age and charge cycles. A battery that fails because of a manufacturing fault is covered; a battery that slowly holds less charge over time is not.
- Crash and impact damage, including drops, jumps, racing, stunts and competition use.
- Misuse and overloading: carrying more weight than the manufacturer allows, towing, or using the bike for something it was not built for.
- Water damage: submersion, deep water crossings, pressure washing or spraying water into the battery, motor, controller or connectors.
- Modifications: changed settings or tuning, unapproved parts, altered wiring, or any repair done by someone we have not approved.
- Incorrect charging or storage: using a charger that did not come with the bike, charging a damaged battery, leaving a battery fully empty for long periods, or storing it in extreme heat or cold.
- Lack of maintenance: damage caused by not keeping the bike clean, lubricated and correctly adjusted.
- Cosmetic damage: scratches, dents, fading and rust that do not affect how the bike works.
- Shipping damage that was not reported within the time given in section 6.
- Indirect loss: costs such as lost income, hire of another bike, travel or time off.
4. Looking after your bike
To keep your warranty valid, please:
- Read the manufacturer's manual and follow its instructions.
- Use only the supplied charger, on a flat, dry surface, away from heat and flammable material.
- Do not leave the bike charging unattended for long periods.
- Store the battery indoors, partly charged, and out of direct sun.
- Keep the bike clean and check bolts, brakes and tyre pressure regularly.
- Do not open the battery, motor or controller.
5. Proof of purchase
To claim, you need your order number or order confirmation email. Keep it for as long as you own the bike. We may ask for the bike's serial or frame number.
6. Damage on delivery
Please check your bike when it arrives. If it is damaged or something is missing, contact us within 48 hours of delivery with photos of the box and the damage. Damage that is reported late may not be covered.
7. How to make a claim
- Contact us through our contact page within the warranty period. Give your name, order number and a description of the problem.
- Send evidence: clear photos or a short video showing the fault. For battery or electrical faults, say what happens when you try to ride or charge.
- We review your claim and may ask questions or ask you to run simple checks.
- We tell you the outcome: repair, replacement part, replacement bike, or a reason if the claim is not covered.
- The fix is made. If the bike must be inspected, we will tell you where to send it or how it will be collected.
We aim to reply to every claim within 3 business days.
8. Shipping and costs
- If your claim is approved, we pay to repair or replace the faulty part and to send it to you.
- If a bike has to be returned for inspection, we will explain how and who covers the cost before you send anything.
- If a claim is found not to be covered, we will tell you before doing any work, so you can decide whether to pay for a repair.
9. Accessories, gear and parts
- Accessories, riding gear and spare parts are covered against manufacturing defects for the period shown on their product page. If no period is shown, they are covered for 30 days from delivery.
- Helmets and protective gear are not covered after an impact. Replace a helmet after any crash.
10. Selling or giving away your bike
The warranty belongs to the original purchaser and does not transfer to a new owner.
11. Your legal rights
This warranty is in addition to your rights under the consumer protection and warranty laws that apply where you live. Nothing on this page limits those rights.
12. Changes to this warranty
We may update this page from time to time. The terms that applied on the day your order was delivered stay in force for that order.
